Hawker Sea Hurricane 1B
A captivating watercolour print showcasing the Shuttleworth Collection’s Hawker Sea Hurricane 1B ‘Z7015’. The aircraft embarked on its maiden flight in January 1941 and served with the 880 squadron from July that year. The aircraft was deemed unserviceable during its time on HMS Heron, ultimately saving itself as all the other Sea Hurricanes were lost on one of the missions it would have taken. The aircraft was moved to Loughborough College a few years after and was used as an instructional airframe. In 1995 the sole surviving Sea Hurricane soared through the skies after a meticulous restoration by the Shuttleworth Collection. This print captures the essence of the Sea Hurricane with an atmosphere evoking power and speed, beautifully preserving such a rare flying example.
